The Kentucky Challenge Cup, formerly the Soccer Village Cup, holds a special place in the heart of Kentucky Youth Soccer. This competition was born out of the desire to provide our competitive players, specifically those in the 11U – 12U age groups, with the chance to experience the thrill of playing for a state championship. While immensely talented, these young athletes aren’t yet eligible to advance to the prestigious US Youth Soccer Regional and National Championships. Therefore, the Kentucky Challenge Cup was created to celebrate their dedication and hard work by offering them the opportunity to compete in a state championship tournament.

This tournament is a testament to our commitment to youth development and fostering a love for the game. It’s open to any properly registered Kentucky Youth Soccer team aged 11U-12U that has participated or will participate, in a 4-team league. The Kentucky Challenge Cup not only adds a competitive edge to the season but also helps instill the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence in our budding soccer stars. It’s a celebration of their journey in the world of soccer and an event that brings together young athletes, coaches, and families to share in the joy of the game.

13U-19U

The Kentucky State Open Cup is part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, which is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. The National Championship provides approximately 185,000 players on over 10,000 teams from US Youth Soccer State Associations the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play. Annually the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series provides the nation’s top collegiate coaches with the premier stage to identify and scout the most coveted players in the country.

This tournament is open to any properly registered team aged 13U – 19U that has competed in (or will compete in) a 4-team league. No all-star teams or guest players are allowed. Any league, club or association found to have substituted ineligible players on a roster will forfeit their games at this tournament and may be subject to further sanctions. The State Cup Champions will advance to the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championship with the opportunity to advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championship.

Central Kentucky Race Management and The Hardin County History Museum proudly present the 6th Annual “Tim Walker Founders’ Day 5K Run/ Walk” on Thursday, July 4, 2025, at the Elizabethtown Sports Park. This historic event is dedicated to one of the Founders’ Day organizers Tim C. Walker who also served as mayor from (2011-2013) before his term was cut short by his untimely death on June 14, 2013.
